Build Quality Manager

Our client, arguably the UK's premier House-builder, are looking to recruit a Build Quality Manager, to oversee the delivery of new homes from CML to purchaser handover and beyond.

Working between our clients Surrey, West Sussex and Hampshire developments and the company's Surrey head offices, you will ensure the highest quality homes are delivered to customers by performing a thorough inspection and assessing each home for readiness and customer satisfaction.

Duties will also include:

Championing best practice and promoting a right first time approach.
Working together with Production colleagues, Customer Relations Managers and the Customer Experience Team, keeping the customer informed and expectations managed.

Responsibilities and Accountabilities:
- Undertake the final mechanical, electrical and functional inspections of each plot, prior to handover and legal completion, ensuring the home is ready for the customer.
 - Carry out running-in checks of homes and stock properties to ensure they are ready for occupation and without defects.
 - Working with the project team to agree benchmark quality for each development.
 - Carry out Zero Defects inspections and de-snag, recording all aspects using allocated software.

 - Carry out brochure compliance and customer extra checks to ensure that they have been installed correctly.
 - Carry out a end of defect inspections when required at Housing Association properties with the Housing Association representative and assist in managing the agreed defects through to completion.
 - Foster good working relationships to facilitate effective communication and aid problem solving.
 - Maintain records to document progress and management information
Working implement effective procedures for managing quality and resolution of issues.
 - Participate and attend weekly completion tracker meetings.
 - Accurate record keeping in order to recover costs from contractors where possible.

Person Specification:

The right candidate for this Build Quality Manager role will likely have a trades background and 3+ years site management experience, including being responsible for taking units from 2nd fix through to completion, perhaps as a Finishing Foreman for a house-builder, or as an Assistant Site Manager. You will also, critically, have experience of interfacing with the end customer.

You will also need:
• A broad understanding of the construction process and previous relevant experience.
• An uncompromising and critical eye for detail.
• A background in delivering high quality homes and/or investigating, identifying and resolving defects in completed homes.
• Proven understanding of mechanical and electrical installations in new homes.
• A people-person with strong interpersonal and influencing skills.
• IT literate with the ability to use tablet based inspection systems
• A passion to deliver the highest quality homes which exceed to the requirements of warranty providers and specifically the NHBC document ‘A Consistent Approach to Finishes’.
• Team player
• Empathic communicator, able to see things from the other person's point of view
• Well-presented and business like.

You will be rewarded with an excellent remuneration package including: Up to £50k pa salary, Car allowance, 25 days holiday, pension, bonus & healthcare.
